Today is Rachel’s birthday, and we didn’t want it to go by without saying a proper thank you.

Most of you know Rachel as the owner of Envy Beauty Den and our extension specialist Queen. Some of you have sat in her chair for years. What you might not see is everything she does when she isn’t behind the chair, and how much of that shapes your experience here.

Leadership You Feel in the Salon A salon’s mood starts with the person leading it. When you walk into Envy and feel welcome, relaxed and looked after, that’s on purpose.

Rachel makes people comfortable, whether that’s a nervous first-time client or a new stylist on her first day. She speaks plainly, deals with problems directly and keeps her focus on what matters most: clients who leave feeling great, and a team that likes coming to work.

Why Leadership Matters in a Small Business

Owning a business is more than opening the doors every morning. It means making hard calls, taking responsibility when things go wrong and giving the credit to other people when things go right.

In a salon and spa, leadership shows up in a few ways:

• Investing in the team. Ongoing education and training mean our stylists, aestheticians and lash artists keep growing, and you get the benefit.

• Setting the standard. Quality products, careful consultations and real attention to detail come from the top.

• Building a culture. A team that feels supported takes better care of the people in their chairs.

• Showing up for the community. Rachel chooses local and Canadian-made products wherever she can, and supports local makers and small businesses in Campbell River.

Good leadership isn’t loud. It’s steady, consistent and shows up in the small things you might not notice, like a schedule that runs smoothly, a team that works well together and a space that feels like yours.

From All of Us at Envy

Rachel, thank you for building something we’re proud to be part of. Thank you for believing in your team, backing us when it counts and pushing us to keep getting better. You’ve created a place where people feel at home, on both sides of the chair. We hope your day is as good as the one you give everyone else.

Happy birthday from your whole Envy Beauty Den team. ❤️
